CAPT was given the chance to re-investigate the Historic Mason Inn in Bentonsport, IA in April of 2009. CAPT had originally investigated this site in May of 2008 with exciting results so when the chance to re-investigate came up, CAPT took it quickly.

The history of the Mason Inn is very interesting to say the least. The Inn was constructed by Mormon settlers on their way to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1846. These same settlers also helped construct the rest of the town's homes at that time which still stands and exists today. The town (or village as it is called) was the typical river town with it's share of violent history. Fights and murders in the streets have been documented along with a documented murder in the Inn itself. An individual who chose to enter the wrong room after a night on the town was greeted by a sword in the cane of the room's occupant. The occupant felt he was being robbed and put a sword in the chest of the other killing him in room 7 of the Inn.

CAPT arrived and met with the owners of the Inn, unloaded equipment and started the investigation. The investigation consisted of EVP and photo work in all the rooms on the second and first floor of the Inn, and some EVP and photo work outside the Inn in the downtown area along with the walking bridge.

CAPT team members fully enjoyed the stay at the Inn and had a few personal experiences which included being touched and seeing a glimpse of an apparition in the parlor. CAPT concluded the investigation at approx. 0430 hours and set out for evidence review. The captured evidence is listed below to include video footage of a transparent apparition in room 5 or Julia's room.
