In March 2009, CAPT was contacted by a family in Preston, IA about activity present
in the home that could not be explained. The main claim was their child was shoved across the living room and into a door
jam causing a goose egg to appear on the child's forehead along with a bruise. CAPT immediately put this case on the top
of the case load and the date for the investigation was set.
CAPT Arrived on site through an ice storm at approx. 1900 hours. The drive was
approx. 4 hours long but the child was our main concern. CAPT greeted the home owners and was re-advised of the activity claimed
in the home. CAPT was given the chance to see and speak to the child involved, though under the age of 5, the child was well
spoken and articulate about what had happened. After a talk with all involved, a walk through was done.
The home was in varying stages of re-modeling so video contamination was a concern. Equipment was
set and the investigation started.
The team first conducted a sweep for EMF, which was found
around the fuse box in the basement out to approx 1 foot. This was told to the homeowner as the reason fro feeling watched
in the basement area since the washer and dryer are located in that area.
The
next place to be checked out was the main floor. No EMF was found in this area other than normal places and not to levels
that cause concern. AN extensive EVP session was conducted in this area.
The
final place to be checked out was the second floor, again no EMF to be concerned about and another extensive EVP session was
conducted in this area as well. During this time the homeowners were present and participated in the photo and EVP sessions.
The team then moved between the first and second floors conducting random EVP
and photo sessions in the home. The investigation lasted until 0430 hours when equipment was broke down and CAPT headed out
in another ice storm to review evidence. Captured evidence is listed below.
