Lisa---CAPT Co-Founder-- Case Manager--Lead Investigator
My name is Lisa and I live down around the Knoxville area in a little burg called Attica, not much here to brag about. Im a volunteer Firefighter/EMT; I serve as
a Captain on the department and lead EMS.
I grew up in Des Moines and my hubby and I attended the same jr high and high school.

My experiences with the paranormal started around the age of 12.  My older sister and her family lived in a house that was active at 12 the place was just downright spooky :)
Ive seen and heard many things that before I put off as my imagination.... Now that I'm more aware of what surrounds us, Im not putting it off as imagination but I go to
search out what it is Ive seen and / or heard.... and try to find an explanation for it.... IF there is one, I dont consider myself a skeptic, I'm a firm believer, but if it can be
debunked, then so be it, if it cant be....... then we'll decide later.
Im very excited at being a new member of CAPT. I hope that my efforts in investigating will proove me worthy to be part of the team.

Pam---Case Manager---Investigator:

I grew up on a farm outside of Coon Rapids, IA.  I currently live in Bayard,
IA.  I am the mother of 1 daughter and 3 stepdaughters.  We recently
"adopted" a 17 year old daughter, as well.  So that brings us to a total of
5 daughters.  I am also a very, very proud grandmother.  I am happily
married to my husband of 6 years.  I own and manage my own business and am a partner and manager of a second business. My husband tells me that he thinks that I am "sensitive" to paranormal things.  I don't know about that, but sometimes I feel my "spidey senses" tingle & I am drawn to unexplained happenings.  I think that there are a lot of things that can be "debunked" with a scientific explanation.  There are also many things that happen that can't.  My goal is to help gather as much information as possible so that we can conduct an educated investigation. Knowledge is power. My daughter & I lived in a house where several "unexplained" things happened and we both have had an interest in the paranormal since that time.  I understand how uncomfortable a person can feel when they share their paranormal experiences with others.  I hope to help people feel more comfortable about sharing these experiences. There are so many things l like to do, its hard to list them, but here are my top favs.  I enjoy spending time with my husband & family, which include our 2 dogs "Dahmer and "Luci". I also love quilting, going to Muay Thai classes, reading about the paranormal, watching spooky movies, eating wonderful food and traveling.

Sandy...CAPT Investigator

Sandy is a full time radio DJ; married with 3 kids. Her interest in the paranormal began..well, pretty much at birth! As a toddler, she experienced paranormal occurrences in the house her Grandfather had built himself. Disturbances became so common and frightening that the family had a scientific research team from the University of Minnesota investigate! As an adult, Sandy has experienced paranormal events off and on as well. As a paranormal investigator, Sandy's main goal is to focus on those experiencing the disturbances..and to put their minds at ease as much as possible! When you fear your home is haunted, it can be very frightening! The ultimate goal for Sandy is to capture a full body apparition on camera herself..a feat she has yet to accomplish. In her spare time (what spare time?) Sandy likes to read about the paranormal, history, and biographies; sing; and occasionally do a bit of community theatre acting; in addition to shuffling kids from here to there.

Chris---Tech Specialist---Investigator:

The most recent thing I have experienced is at my parents' house.  The door to my old bedroom started vibrating about 2-3 months ago.  It started one day with just a quick vibration out of nowhere, and just gradually started to vibrate more and more.  Now it is vibrating almost constantly and has gotten louder. There have also been times where the light on our ceiling fan in the den has turned on and off by itself.  One of the times, my dad was in the living room and I was walking to the kitchen and the light was on, then turned off and back on twice.  I went into the den thinking my dad was in there, but he wasn't.  I came around to the other entrance to the room and he was sitting on the couch, and though I was doing it. Another time was when I was still in school.  I came home as was watching tv and heard something from one of the rooms.  I didn't think anything of it since it sounded like the house settling.  When my mom came home from work and went to her room, she called out to me and asked what had happened back there.  I didn't know what she was talking about since I had not been back there.  I got back to the far bedroom and there was a plastic cup that was upside-down on the floor that had pins and tacks in it that were scattered around it.  You could see where it had been sitting on the dresser for a while because there was some dust all around where the cup had been sitting.  There were no marks in the dust from it being slid off either. Another experience is before my parents replaced the wood flooring with tile, we used to hear footsteps going across the floor in the kitchen area.  It didn't matter if it was just one person home or more.  My parents often thought it was me walking to the kitchen, but when they called out to me got no response.  I have also heard the footsteps when sitting in the living room when nobody else was home. There are a lot of other little things that have happened over time.  There used to be a field next to my parents' house.  When the land owner decided to build houses on it during my freshman year, the activity picked up.  After they had gone through and cleared the field, my old neighbor from across the street went walking through the field and found a pink flint arrowhead that was in almost perfect condition.  The house isn't far from a creek either, so we are almost positive that Native Americans used to travel through here.  Every time a new house starts going up, the activity picks up. A lot of people already know this, but I also have A LOT of computer experience.  I'm 27 and can actually say that I have almost 20 years of computer experience.  My parents got our first computer when I was 8 years old... a Packard Bell 286, lol.  I started messing with the programs and learning them, then moved on to hardware soon after.  I've been messing with computers ever since then, and can build a computer pretty quickly.  If I have all of the parts laying out, I can have a computer built and have the operating system installing in 30 minutes to 1 hour.  I also have a lot of networking experience, and had 7 computers(3 desktops and 4 laptops) on a network at my parents' house.  If you have a problem with your computer, I can usually walk you through it or fix it myself if I can get my hands on it. ;)
CAPT welcomes Chris.

James.jpg

James--Investigator

I am a father of 2 great children. My son is 5 years old in July, and loves to beat on me like a punching bag, but I would feel out of place if he didn't. My Daughter is just shy of 8 months old, and she is the most precious thing you'll ever see. I am married to a wonderful woman who is my hero, because she puts up with my crap. Any other person would probably have had me knocked off by now. We have been together for 7 years, and married for 5.  I have spent the majority of my free time training, and volunteering for several area organizations. Des Moines County SKYWARN: I have been a part of this group since the beginning of its existence. I started 3 years ago, and have taken 6 basic, 2 advanced severe weather spotter courses, and just recently, I attended an advanced radar training session. We have come a long way, and I really enjoy being a part of this group. Des Moines County CERT: The Des Moines County Community Emergency Response Team was started in April of 2006 as a way to provide additional resources in the time of need. I have had training in light search and rescue, first aid, CPR, fire suppression, disaster assessment, and traffic control. We participate in county wide disaster drills, and we do live drills of our own with our group, and our neighbors in Henry County. I just returned from a Train the Trainer program, where I became certified as a CERT Instructor.  Des Moines County Red Cross: The Des Moines County chapter of the American Red Cross has invited members of CERT to take part in training with this group. I have just completed DAT (Disaster Action Team) Training.  Midwest-Skywarn.com: I am the current Vice President of http://www.midwest-skywarn.org. This website focuses on providing weather information for 14 mid west states, and is also a place for spotters to come together and share stories, pics, ideas, pointers, etc. James is a welcome addition to the team..

April.jpg

April---Investigator-In-Training
I grew up in a house in Massachusetts that was haunted and witnessed lots of paranormal activity as a kid. After many years of never finding my own answers to my questions, perhaps I could help someone else find theirs. I moved to Des Moines County in 1989 and other than going back to Massachusetts for 2 years and graduating a Reserve Police Academy, I have been in Burlington since. I'm a Des Moines County SKYWARN Feild Spotter and also a member of the Des Moines County Emergency Response Team (CERT). I also enjoy singing. April brings her own investigation style to CAPT and is a welcomed new member.

voo2.JPG

Chris---Founder of the WCPT (West Coast Paranormal Team)--Lead Investigator--CAPT Chapter member.
I am originally from Twinsburg Ohio and have been in the Military for the last 15 yrs both Navy and United States Coast Guard. I had my first experience with the paranormal as a child growing up in a house built in the woods where I heard a lot of voices and have seen things I could explain. I did some research when I was in high school and found out that there was a old Indian encampment not far from the house so it kinda put things into perspective. I am a firm believer in ghosts, however I am eager to disprove a haunt since the mind can play games with you so you have to look at the obvious even when it hides from you. I am the Founder of the WCPT ( West Coast Paranormal Team) here in San Diego California and I cant wait to get started with CAPT/BGPS and bring some evidence from the west coast to them.
